Wilhelmi signs with Jimmies

Abby Wilhelmi, who will be a 2014 graduate of Bishop Ryan High School in Minot, has signed a letter of intent to participate in cross country for the University of Jamestown.

Wilhelmi’s top 4,000-meter cross country time clocked in at 19:30.

“Abby is a very good student with some good solid academic goals,” Jimmie women’s cross country coach Jim Clark said. “Abby is concerned about the time commitment involved in college sports so is going to try cross country, rather than to commit to track and field too, as many runners do.

“I like her thought process and I hope she has success and a good time with cross country, and that will enhance her overall college experience.”

Wilhelmi has been involved in golf, track, honor society and FCCLA, in addition to cross country at Minot Ryan. She is the daughter of Patricia Wilhelmi and plans to study psychology and business, with an interest in law.
