William Smith, 21, of Valley City, N.D., was driving a 1993 Ford Ranger south on 98th Ave. SE near its junction with 19th St. SE when he lost control while negotiating a 90-degree curve in the road.

The Ranger entered the ditch and overturned, coming to rest on its wheels facing south.

Smith, who was wearing his seatbelt, was uninjured. His passenger, Darian Krueger, 19, of Wimbledon, was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Jamestown Ambulance brought Krueger to Jamestown Medical Center, and then Sanford Life Flight transported her to Sanford Hospital, Fargo.

The crash remains under investigation, and could lead to charges being filed against the driver, according to the Highway Patrol.

The Barnes County Sheriff’s Office and Wimbledon Fire Department assisted at the scene.
