Woman injured in ride at North Dakota State Fair

MINOT, N.D. -- A woman was injured Friday on a carnival ride at the North Dakota State Fair in Minot, KXMC-TV reported.

The woman, in her early 20s, was on the Kamikaze ride, which turns upside down in a forward circle. Crews treated her for injuries to her head and took her to Trinity Hospital in Minot, KXMC reported.

Officials quoted by the station said it was unclear whether the seat malfunctioned, or whether the woman may have hit her head on the side bars.

The ride was closed temporarily while a safety inspection was performed.
