Northern Plains Electric Cooperative is seeking applicants for its Operation Round Up grant program.

Each quarter the Northern Plains Operation Round Up Board of Directors meets to disburse funds to applicants. Funds for the program come from co-op members who choose to have their electric bills rounded to the next dollar. The donated amount averages about 50 cents a month for each participating member and the co-op averages about $37,000 a year for the grant program.

Tam Aljets, business assistant for Northern Plains, said Operation Round Up started in 1998. She said most of the funds collected for the grant program are given back to people and organizations in the communities in which Northern Plains operates.

The application deadline is Sept. 1. For more information or to apply, call 800-882-2500.
