The Valley City Bluegrass jam is from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Barnes County Museum, 315 Central Ave. N, Valley City. This acoustic-only jam is free; beginner bluegrass musicians are welcome. The University of Jamestown Commencement Concert featuring the Concert Choir is at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Voorhees Chapel. Admission is free.

The Syttende Mai dinner and dance to the Myron Sommerfeld Orchestra are at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Knights of Columbus. A torsk and meatball dinner will be followed by music and dancing. Tickets are $25 and can be reserved by calling Lois Knudson, 952-2411, or emailing karahelgeson

Night Storm for students freshmen through age 20 is Friday at the Foster County Fairgrounds, Carrington. The traveling entertainment dance club event is $10 per person (ID required). A spaghetti feed and silent auction fundraiser for Kim Herold is from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Grace Episcopal Church, 407 2nd Ave. NE. Donations for the meal will be accepted with a recommended $7 per person, less for small children. Donations may also be made to the account set up at Bank Forward. Herold has cancer.

Friendship Suppers are from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays in the Liebelt Center at the Jamestown Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1201 4th St. NE, in Jamestown. There is no charge.

A SKYWARN program is at 7:30 p.m. today at the Fireside Steakhouse, Ellendale. The program is free.



National Buffalo Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission: $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and AAA members, $10 for a family and $1 for children ages 6 to 18.

The Barnes County Historical Museum, 315 Central Ave. N, Valley City, is open year round from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is a freewill donation.


The Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile Historic Site near Cooperstown is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Thursday through Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
