Hospital foundation receives grant

Jamestown Hospital Foundation has received a $5,000 match grant from Dakota Medical Foundation to support the new Infant Security System for the Maternal Child Health Department at the hospital.

Jamestown Hospital Foundation has received a $5,000 match grant from Dakota Medical Foundation to support the new Infant Security System for the Maternal Child Health Department at the hospital.

The Hugs and Kisses System is to protect infants from abduction from the hospital and to confirm that the correct infant is matched with the correct mother. Because Jamestown Hospital is now the only hospital with a 100-mile radius that delivers babies, it is seeing an increase of births from around the area so it’s even more critical it has a system in place that eliminates any problems for newborns and their mothers. It will ensure the hospital’s youngest patients are safe and give their mothers peace of mind.

Dakota Medical Foundation is matching all gifts in the amounts of $50 to $1,000 for this new equipment up to a total of $5,000.

Dakota Medical Foundation, Fargo, focuses its efforts on improving health and access to medical and dental care in the region, with a special emphasis on children. Since 1996, it has invested more than $37 million to 338 nonprofit organizations in the region.
