BISMARCK (AP) — North Dakota farmers are looking for new ways to promote their products.

Representatives from a dozen commodity groups are scheduled to meet Tuesday in Bismarck to discuss marketing ideas. It’s believed to be the first meeting of its kind.

Officials with the Department of Agriculture and the Trade Office are scheduled to attend the meeting and outline projects for 2010.

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said a new state law requires the gathering to be held every year. He said it’s a good idea because the groups have similar programs and represent many of the same producers.
