Families of N.D. soldiers to be updated Sunday

Brig. Gen Al Dohrmann will update families of soldiers in Kosovo as part of the Multi-National Task Force at 1 p.m. Sunday at the RJB Armory in Bismarck.

Brig. Gen Al Dohrmann will update families of soldiers in Kosovo as part of the Multi-National Task Force at 1 p.m. Sunday at the RJB Armory in Bismarck.

The event will be broadcast by video telephone conference to Camp Grafton, Dickinson, Grand Forks, Minot, Valley City and Fargo.

Dohrmann is addressing recent media reports that North Dakota National Guard soldiers may return from Kosovo early. Those reports were based on a statement by NATO’s supreme allied commander in Europe, Adm. James Stavridis, that soldier numbers may be reduced from the current 15,000 to 10,000 troops.

Dohrmann said the announcement does not effect the North Dakota National Guard deployment as they are within the 10,000 soldier target force.
