An elderly man died at Jamestown Hospital following an accident Monday at the intersection of Third Avenue and Third Street Northwest, according to an official at the Law Enforcement Center dispatch.

Lt. Robert Opp, supervisor at the LEC, said the man was in his 90s and it is unclear as yet whether his death was a result of the accident. Jamestown police and Jamestown Ambulance were called to the scene about 3:45 p.m. and the elderly man was transported to the hospital.

Opp said the man lost control of his vehicle, struck another vehicle causing about $2,000 worth of damage, then struck a building. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured and the building sustained only minor damage.
