Central Valley Health District will give out the H1N1 vaccine from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 523 Fourth Ave. S.E.
“Christmas and other holiday gatherings are just around the corner, so this is an excellent opportunity for people of all ages to now get H1N1 protection,” said Robin Iszler, administrator of Central Valley Health District. “The spread of H1N1 has slowed down for the present time, but we have already had two waves of illness this year and with pandemics it is very possible we will have more waves, so vaccination is still important.”
Iszler said to be vaccinated, the person must feel well, not be running a fever or have flu-like symptoms.
Children age 9 and under who received an H1N1 vaccine need a booster one month after they had their first shot.
“This will be a good opportunity for parents to bring children for their boosters or their first dose without needing to wait until an appointment at the office becomes available,” added Iszler.
Anyone who has questions on Friday’s clinic may call Central Valley Health at 252-8130. Questions should not be directed to the church.
