Letter to the editor: Bravo to KC employees for their honesty and integrity

I would like to take this opportunity to hand out my personal bravo this week to the employees of the Knights of Columbus for their honesty and integrity.

In September I lost an expensive bracelet that was given to me by a dear departed friend. I looked everywhere for it and called several places I visited that day, but to no avail. I had given up any hope of ever finding it.

Last week at the Knights of Columbus, I was having a conversation with a few of the employees about Christmas gift ideas and that most women enjoy receiving jewelry. I casually mentioned that I wished I could find a bracelet that I lost this summer and described it to the girls. A minute later one of the girls returned with a bracelet in her hand and asked if this was it. I almost fainted. There was my missing bracelet. She said it had been in the lost and found for months and they all wondered if anyone would come in to claim it. I was overjoyed.

At any time, one of the employees could have taken the bracelet home after months of it not being claimed. First of all, what are the odds that through casual conversation I would recover the bracelet, and secondly, how refreshing it is to know there are still honest and trustworthy people among us.

This experience has reinforced my faith in my fellow man. Bravo to the staff at the Knights of Columbus. Merry Christmas to all.
