Letter to the editor: Health care bill should not pass in Congress

The new health care bill is a bunch of garbage. It should have been thrown into the garbage can before it ever hit the floor of Congress. When the members of Congress are not being placed under the health care bill’s provisions, why should the citizens of this great nation be asked to do so?

The new health care bill is a bunch of garbage. It should have been thrown into the garbage can before it ever hit the floor of Congress. When the members of Congress are not being placed under the health care bill’s provisions, why should the citizens of this great nation be asked to do so?

A new health bill could be written in two or three lines. The citizens who would like to take part in the government program, let them be charged with their income taxes.

Those who do not wish to be members of the health care program can buy their own insurance. This is not 1,200 pages, it is a few lines and will do everything the 1,200 pages do.

It is for sure that members of the House and Senate who vote for the bill should have their voting records challenged.

I had the privilege of serving in our armed forces for two wars. I had no idea that our country would come to the point where our elected representatives would serve themselves rather than the people they represent.

It is the people of this great nation who need to wake up and have them do their job as they were elected to do.

Kill the health care bill. Let’s make it simple so that all people can understand it, and the members of Congress, too.
