Bismarck has shortage of Christmas trees

Many locations in Bismarck-Mandan that sell live Christmas trees are sold out with nearly two weeks left until Christmas.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Many locations in Bismarck-Mandan that sell live Christmas trees are sold out with nearly two weeks left until Christmas.

A big reason is that several businesses that have sold live trees in the past decided not to do so this year.

Plant Perfect is one that did sell live trees this year before running out over the weekend. Supervisor Ginny LaFave says the store is getting a lot of calls from people searching for a tree.

Lowe's nursery department manager Adam Kaufman says that store sold all of its 800 trees in about two weeks.
