BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Bismarck woman has been sentenced to serve two years in prison for the death of her infant daughter.
Authorities say 28-year-old Gennifer Glum drowned her newborn in a toilet after giving birth at her home on Dec. 6, 2007.
Glum last fall entered an Alford plea to manslaughter, meaning she did not admit guilt but acknowledged that a jury could convict her. She initially had been charged with murder.
Glum was found by a judge to be an ``incapacitated person' in Nebraska in 2005. Her parents were appointed to be her guardians. Testimony during her sentencing hearing on Wednesday centered around whether she was criminally responsible for her actions the day she gave birth.
