Selvig has been with The Sun for 10 years, covering Class B sports for three years and Jamestown High School athletics since 2003. He’ll now primarily cover Jamestown College athletics.

Selvig is a 1999 graduate of Minnesota-State Moorhead and 1997 graduate of Fergus Falls Community College in Fergus Falls, Minn.

“I look forward to continuing the tradition of providing our readers with the best local sports coverage in the area,” he said. “The Sun has dedicated itself to covering local college, high school and youth teams and we will continue to do that in the future.”

Selvig assumed the duties of sports editor on Wednesday, said publisher Bruce Henke.

“Dave has been a dedicated sports reporter at The Jamestown Sun for the past 10 years and brings a wealth of knowledge to his new position,” Henke said. “I’m confident he will continue to manage the sports coverage our readers have come to expect and deserve.”

Michael Savaloja will continue as a sports writer at The Sun.
