Sheriff ends long career
Robert Graber will end a 30-year career in law enforcement with his retirement Thursday after 11 years as Pierce County sheriff.
RUGBY, N.D. (AP) — Robert Graber will end a 30-year career in law enforcement with his retirement Thursday after 11 years as Pierce County sheriff.
The Pierce County Commission has appointed Matt Lunde to finish out the remaining one year of Graber’s third four-year term. Lunde is a former deputy sheriff who worked with Graber for nine years.
The 65-year-old Graber previously spent nearly 20 years as a law officer in Virginia. He said the decision to retire is partly because of health complications and partly because “it’s just time.”
