COUNTRY Financial representatives from the Northern Lights Agency recently raised more than $1,100 for the American Cancer Society through an agency telethon.

The representatives contacted local area residents and offered them the opportunity to set up a free, no-obligation appointment to evaluate their financial security. For every fulfilled appointment, COUNTRY donated $10 to the charity.

“At COUNTRY, we give back to the communities we serve,” said Phil Haug, agency manger of the Northern Lights Agency. “Through this event, we were able to increase financial security awareness in the community and support an important local charity. It’s a win-win for our community.”

The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization. Its mission involves eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering through research, education, advocacy and service.
