Charge dropped in baby-death case
Prosecutors have dropped a manslaughter charge that had been facing a Bis-marck baby sitter suspected in the death of a 3-month-old child in 2008.
BISMARCK (AP) — Prosecutors have dropped a manslaughter charge that had been facing a Bis-marck baby sitter suspected in the death of a 3-month-old child in 2008.
But prosecutors also said Larena Doll could be charged again later.
Doll had pleaded not guilty in the death of Kingston Kuntz of Mandan. She was scheduled for trial next week.
Authorities said the boy died of a blunt head injury in April 2008. Investigators said doctors believe the baby was shaken.
Burleigh County prosecutor Cynthia Feland said new medical information casts doubt on who injured the child.
No new arrests in the case have been announced.
