Griswold joins the Sun after spending nearly two years at the Marshall Independent in Marshall, Minn. He spent time as a sports writer and was the sports editor in Marshall for more than a year before joining The Sun on Monday.
“I am really excited to not only become a member of The Sun but also a member of the community,” Griswold said. “One of the things that drew me to The Sun was its tradition for strong local sports coverage.”
Griswold, a native of Woodbury, Minn., graduated from the University of North Dakota in 2007 with a degree in communications.
Prior to moving to Marshall, Griswold spent time with the Turtle Mountain Star in Rolla, N.D., and the Lake Metigoshe Mirror in Bottineau, N.D.
Sun Sports editor Dave Selvig says Griswold is an excellent addition to The Sun.
“David brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our staff. He is an accomplished editor and writer and is an excellent addition to the Jamestown Sun sports department,” Selvig said. “We are very excited to have David on board.”
