Snowplows to have gates removed

The city of Jamestown announced Tuesday that the snow gates will be removed from the city snowplows for an indefinite period of time. The city engineer’s office said the large amount of snow received over the holiday created problems for much of the city’s snow removal equipment.

The city of Jamestown announced Tuesday that the snow gates will be removed from the city snowplows for an indefinite period of time.

The city engineer’s office said the large amount of snow received over the holiday created problems for much of the city’s snow removal equipment. They include several equipment failures while trying to continue using the gates, the office said. The problems are increasing and slowing down snow removal and “push-back” operations.
