Music/Drama/ Comedy

“Cold Feet,” a musical presented by the Dakota Prairie Regional Center for the Arts, is at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 15-16, and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at The Opera House in New Rockford. Tickets are $19 and seats can be reserved by calling 701-947-2174 or can be purchased online at www.dprca.com.

An Evening With James-town High School Music is at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Arts Center. Tickets are $8 for adults and $3 for students at the door.

“Plaza Suite,” a Neil Simon comedy performed by the Arts Center Community Theatre, is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Jan. 22-24. Dinner theater performances Friday and Saturday, Jan. 22-23, begin at 6 p.m. followed by the play at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for Arts Center members and $25 for others. A matinee performance is at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, with dessert served at the first intermission. Tickets are $10 for Arts Center members and $15 for others.

Around Town

Public swimming, sponsored by Jamestown Parks and Rec, is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays at Jamestown High School. There is no admission charge. The walking track is open from 6 to 8 a.m. Monday through Friday at Jamestown High School when school is in session. Use the main entrance. For more information, call 952-4003.

Skating rink warming houses are open at Meidinger, McElroy, Nickeus and Leapaldt parks. The sledding warming house at The Bunker is open from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends.

Open Mic Night, hosted by local musician John Crowston, is from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays at Babb’s Coffee House. The open session is available to anyone wanting to perform.

Museums/ Libraries/etc.

National Buffalo Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sundays by appointment. Admission: $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and AAA members, $10 for a family and $1 for children ages 6 to 18.

Alfred Dickey Public Library hours are 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. To access the Story Line, call 252-7464.

Stutsman County Library hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The library is located at 910 Fifth St. S.E.

The Arts Center, located at 115 Second St. S.W., Jamestown, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. There is no admission charge.

The Putnam House in Carrington is open for special events and by appointment by calling 701-652-2090. There is no admission charge.

The Barnes County Historical Museum, 315 Central Ave. N., Valley City, is open year round from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is a freewill donation.

Art

Obsessed with North Dakota, an exhibit of photography by Clint Saunders and Daron W. Krueger, is on display through Saturday at the Arts Center. There is no admission charge.

Arts After Work is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Mondays at the Arts Center. The class Monday is Creative Journaling. Cost: $5 for Arts Center members and $7 for others. Call the Arts Center at 251-2496 for more information.

Arts At Lunch is from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Arts Center. The class Wednesday, Jan. 20, is Marbling. Bring a bag lunch; coffee and cookies will be provided. Cost: $5 for Arts Center members and $7 for others. Call the Arts Center at 251-2496 for more information.

Mary Kanwischer is the artist exhibiting her cross stitchery work at Unison Bank in January. Each month Unison features a different artist in its lobby area gallery.
