Cold continues to blanket Dakotas
Extreme, dangerous cold is blanketing the Dakotas for a second day. The National Weather Service says overnight temperatures dropped as low as 32 degrees below zero in North Dakota's capital city of Bismarck. Wind chills in North Dakota and South Dakota were even colder early Friday — nearing 50 below zero in northern North Dakota for a second straight morning.

The National Weather Service says overnight temperatures dropped as low as 32 degrees below zero in North Dakota's capital city of Bismarck. Wind chills in North Dakota and South Dakota were even colder early Friday — nearing 50 below zero in northern North Dakota for a second straight morning.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Patrick Ayd (EYED) in Bismarck says a warmup is on the way starting this weekend, as the arctic blast moves out and winds start coming from the west and southwest.
High temperatures Saturday are forecast to be in the 30s above zero in parts of the western Dakotas.
