FARGO (AP) — One of the most successful high school football coaches in North Dakota in the past decade apparently is leaving.
Fargo South players say coach Kevin Feeney has told them he is taking the head coaching job at neighboring Moorhead, Minn. Senior lineman Gerad Fugleberg says the news came as a surprise.
In his six years with the Bruins, Feeney compiled a 64-8 record and took his teams to North Dakota’s Class AAA title game all six years. He won three state championships, in 2004, 2006 and 2007.
At Moorhead, Feeney will replace Rick Eidsness, who had a 30-29 record in six years with the Spuds before resigning to spend more time with his family.
