Nurse’s assistant class planned at JRVTC

The Jamestown Community Education program has included a Nurse’s Assistant Skills Training class as part of its curriculum for the winter session. The class teaches the basic hands-on skills needed to challenge that part of the Certified Nursing Assistant test. Some independent study is required to pass the written portion of the test. All materials needed to study for the test are available at the Center and are offered through the class.

The class was designed through the work of a Medical Leaders Roundtable which is part of the JSDC Strategic Planning committee. Medical leaders from throughout the city have developed the 18-hour curriculum which is open to anyone 16 years of age or older interested in becoming a Nurse’s Assistant.

Registration is open for the next class. The class is set for 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 25, Jan. 26 and Jan. 28, Feb. 1, Feb. 2 and Feb. 4. Testing is Feb. 9.
