MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A judge has set bail at $3 million each for two teenagers charged with first-degree murder in last week's killings of three men at a south Minneapolis market.
Mahdi Hassan Ali and Ahmed Shire Ali, both of Minneapolis, appeared in court Friday. The unrelated 17-year-olds are charged as adults in the Jan. 6 killings at Seward Market and Halal Meat.
The complaint alleges that Mahdi Ali was the gunman during a botched robbery and that Ahmed Ali kept two customers confined to the back of the store.
An attorney for Mahdi Ali argued against the $3 million bail, saying her client's birthdate was a guess and he may be younger than 17.
But a prosecutor argued that Mahdi Ali ``showed no concern for human life' in the shootings.
