Carpenter, Patel Musicians of Month

Hunter Carpenter, son of Sean and Kim Carpenter, and Mikayla Patel, daughter of Ashish and Betsy Patel, have been selected as Jamestown Middle School’s Musicians of the Month.

Hunter is a percussion section leader in the JMS seventh grade band, and he sings with the JMS Pops Choir. In addition, he has been se-lected to perform with the 2010 North Dakota Junior High All-State Band.

Mikayla plays clarinet in the JMS sixth grade band, and signs with the JMS sixth grade choir. In addition, she was selected to perform with the American Choral Director’s Honor Choir.

The Jamestown Middle School music department is under the direction of Ken Aune, Meredith Meidinger and Jennifer Michalenko. Musicians of the month are selected on the basis of their musical ability, work ethic, and involvement in various music programs.
