N.D. hunters asked to complete surveys

North Dakota wildlife officials are gathering information on several hunting seasons.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota wildlife officials are gathering information on several hunting seasons.

The Game and Fish Department has sent out deer bow, small game, waterfowl and turkey questionnaires to randomly selected hunters.

Data processing coordinator Jerry Gulke says the surveys are used to determine the number of hunters, amount of hunting activity and number of animals killed.

He says survey participation has been declining in recent years to the point where it is becoming a problem, and hunters are encouraged to complete the surveys.
