McGuire speaks on center at Kiwanis

Laurie McGuire was the guest speaker at the Jan. 18 Kiwanis Club meeting with an update on the James River Senior and Community Center and its services.
McGuire said that some of the services they provide include rental of the facility for private parties and banquets, catering, home-delivered meals, congregate dining sites, nutrition supplements, recreational activities, health care services, legal assistance, a loan closet for medical equipment, the Senior Companion Program, James River Transit and medical vans to take people to Fargo and Bismarck.
McGuire expressed appreciation for the volunteers who make these programs possible including those who deliver 100 noon meals daily. Jim Lees expressed appreciation for the service provided by the center.
The next noon Kiwanis meeting is scheduled for Feb. 1 and the scheduled guest speaker is Brian Skaar of the Salvation Army. Kiwanis meets at noon on Mondays at the Lantern Room.
