The Sons of Norway received passports to “Scandinavia in a Nutshell,” which will be the club’s theme for 2010.
The first country is Finland. The club learned about the culture and saw many slides on the country and tried traditional goodies, such as Finnish pancakes, cardamon and almond stick cookies, pulla bread and cardamon cake.
Reports were given on participation in Christmas in the Park and delivery of cookie plates to people at Christmas. Several thank-you notes were read from those who received the plates.
Plans are in the works for Syttende Mai banquet with Jodi Bunde, Gloria Harr and Laural Gusaas on the committee.
The next meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Gardenette. Tim Burchill will give a presentation on Denmark. Maralyn and Bob Salting are hosts.
