U.S. Highway 83 section reopens
U.S. Highway 83 between Washburn and Underwood reopened Wednesday morning, after being closed for about a day so large coal-mining equipment could cross the four-lane road. The 13.5 million pound dragline at the Falkirk Mining Co. moves at a speed of less than 1 mph. Dragline crossings also were made in 2003 and twice in 1987.
WASHBURN, N.D. (AP) — U.S. Highway 83 between Washburn and Underwood reopened Wednesday morning, after being closed for about a day so large coal-mining equipment could cross the four-lane road.
