Dr. Gary Krapu, research biologist at Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center, speaks on “Siberia on 2 Bean Geese a Day,” his travels in Russia, at 7 p.m. today at the Barnes County Historical Museum, 315 Central Ave. N., Valley City. There is no admission charge.
“The Zodiac,” a planetarium show featuring stories of the 12 zodiacal constellations, is at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Valley City State University Planetarium on campus. The planetarium is located in Room 310, Rhodes Science Center. Admission is a freewill donation.
Cabin Fever Days are Feb. 5-14 at locations around Jamestown. Zonta Chocolate Fantasia is at Gladstone Inn. Jamestown Parks and Rec activities include sleigh rides at the Bunker, cross country skiing at Hillcrest, tournaments, swimming and open gyms. Also included are the Polar Plunge and Prairie Paws Pet Meet and Greet.
Around Town
Public swimming, sponsored by Jamestown Parks and Rec, is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays at Jamestown High School. There is no admission charge. The walking track is open from 6 to 8 a.m. Monday through Friday at Jamestown High School when school is in session. Use the main entrance. For more information, call 952-4003.
Skating rink warming houses are open at Meidinger, McElroy, Nickeus and Leapaldt parks. The sledding warming house at The Bunker is open from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5:30 p.m. Sundays. Hillcrest cross-country ski trails are groomed. Skis can be rented at the Proshop, open from noon to 5:30 p.m. weekends.
Open Mic Night, hosted by local musician John Crowston, is from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays at Babb’s Coffee House. The open session is available to anyone wanting to perform.

National Buffalo Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sundays by appointment. Admission: $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and AAA members, $10 for a family and $1 for children ages 6 to 18.

The Barnes County Historical Museum, 315 Central Ave. N., Valley City, is open year round from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is a freewill donation. “The Seeds of Victory: Home Gardening Posters from the World Wars,” featuring 34 war garden posters, reproduced from the originals held by the North Dakota State Archives, is on exhibit through March 30.

“Dwellings,” an exhibit of mixed media collage and art by Laura Wennstrom, is on display through Feb. 27 at the Arts Center, located at 115 Second St. S.W. There is no admission charge.
