N.D. to add Mega Millions lottery game Sunday
North Dakota is joining a group of 32 states that will begin selling tickets to both the Powerball and Mega Millions lottery games on Sunday.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota is joining a group of 32 states that will begin selling tickets to both the Powerball and Mega Millions lottery games on Sunday.
North Dakota lottery director Randy Miller says the move should help keep North Dakota from losing customers to Minnesota. Minnesota starts selling tickets to both lotteries on Sunday.
Miller expects the new game will boost North Dakota’s total annual lottery sales by 10 percent.
Powerball is now played in 31 states. Mega Millions is played in a dozen states.
Powerball drawings are on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The current jackpot is $90 million. Mega Millions has its drawings on Tuesdays and Fridays. Its jackpot is now $144 million.
