Polar Pig Splash set for today

About 20 jumpers are expected at the Polar Pig Splash set for today, said Don Wegner, organizer.

The “Walk the Plank” Polar Pig Splash is set for 10:30 a.m. today. Proceeds from the event benefit the Jamestown Hospital Hospice program. Hospice provides end-of-life care for people who doctors say have less than 6 months to live.

Those who raise at least $100 can take the plunge — jumping into a pirate ship shaped pool of water located at Stutsman Harley Davidson. Many jumpers dress in costumes including hooks for hands and pegged legs.

Last year, the Polar Pig Splash raised $10,000.
