Neva receives leadership award
Jamestown High School has announced that Jennifer Neva, daughter of Randy and Tracy Neva, was recently selected to receive The Principal’s Leadership Award for the 2009-2010 school year.
Jamestown High School has announced that Jennifer Neva, daughter of Randy and Tracy Neva, was recently selected to receive The Principal’s Leadership Award for the 2009-2010 school year.
Neva’s leadership positions include the following: president of National Honor Society, class officer and secretary Students Against Destructive Decisions. She attended the North Dakota Leadership Seminar. In addition to these, she has been involved in other activities at the school and community level. They are: Reality Check Mentor, I-Safe mentor, Science Olympiad and being active in her church youth group and Fellowship of Christan Athletes. Throughout her participation in these leadership and community involvements, Neva has demonstrated a positive leadership role by getting involved, giving back to others and being committed to others.
Neva has excelled scholastically at JHS and attained a high level of achievement, school officials said. She was recently selected as a National Merit Semi-finalist and North Dakota Scholar. She won first place at regional Science Olympiad events. Currently, Neva is interested in attending Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., and majoring in pre-medicine.
The principal of each school may nominate one senior to represent the high school and compete at the national level for one of 150-$1,000 scholarships sponsored by The National Association of Secondary School Principals.
