Dunn County Courthouse expansion bids being opened

The Dunn County Commission is opening bids Wednesday on a 3,700-square-foot addition to the courthouse.

MANNING, N.D. (AP) — The Dunn County Commission is opening bids Wednesday on a 3,700-square-foot addition to the courthouse.

The 8,000-square-foot courthouse in Manning was built in 1995 but officials are running out of storage space. The new addition also will have a 1,200-square-foot basement.

Dunn County is in North Dakota's oil patch. Records in the courthouse are heavily researched for oil leasing.

Some of the new space will be used by the sheriff's department, which has three new deputies.

Auditor Reinhard Hauck says the county expects to invest about $1 million in the addition and remodeling.
