The annual Outdoor Sport and Recreation Show is at the Civic Center this weekend, from today through Sunday.

All things outdoors will be on display including campers, boats, pontoons, watercraft, golf carts, motorcycles and much more, said Lynn Lambrecht, sales manager at Ingstad Family Media. Ingstad is holding the event for the third year.

“If you want a dose of spring fever this is the show to go to, it’s all about being outside,” Lambrecht said.

A variety of outdoor groups will also have booths set up at the event, including Dakota Anglers and the Stutsman County Wildlife Federation.

Reister Meats and Catering, Dakota Tillamook beef jerky and Tastefully Simple will have food booths set up as well, Lambrecht said.

But the big draw will most likely be the new campers and fishing boats because they tend to get bigger and better with each passing year, Lambrecht said.

“When you’re wanting to get outside the next best thing is being indoors and imagining yourself outside,” she said.

Back again this year is the ATV safety certification class for children planning to ride, set for 10 a.m. Saturday in the club room. Normally the class costs $20 per rider, but this year R & B Motorsports is picking up the cost, Lambretcht said.

New this year is a snowmobile safety class at noon Sunday in the club room. It is also sponsored by R & B Motorsports.

New vendors from Detroit Lakes, Minn., Bismarck, Fargo and Carrington will be making their way to the Outdoor Sport and Recreation Show for the first time as well.

At least nine RVs are planned for the show and Lambretcht said space will be tight.

“We wouldn’t be able to fit another piece of equipment in there if we wanted to,” she said.

Even though a winter storm is forecasted for this weekend Lambretcht said she is expecting 500 to 1000 people to come through each day.

“Snow doesn’t keep good North Dakotans away from anything,” she said.

Hours for the show are 4 to 8 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

“It might be winter outside but we’re going to have summer inside,” she said.
