Comments sought on amendment

The North Dakota Department of Transportation is seeking comments on the amendment to the 2010-2013 State Transportation Improvement Program for inclusion of the three following Scenic Byways project in 2010: Pembina, Rendezvous Region Backway Tetrault Woods Overlook; Barnes and Griggs, Sheyenne River Valley, Baldhill Dam to Cooperstown; Barnes, Wimbledon Midland Continental Depot.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation is seeking comments on the amendment to the 2010-2013 State Transportation Improvement Program for inclusion of the three following Scenic Byways project in 2010:

* Pembina, Rendezvous Region Backway Tetrault Woods Overlook, one mile west of Wahalla on County Hwy 55 and one and a half miles south on 126th Ave N; grading and landscaping, constructing a gravel parking area, picnic shelter, interpretative panels. Total cost: $73,805

* Barnes and Griggs, Sheyenne River Valley, Baldhill Dam to Cooperstown; Planning Study to evaluate and prepare application to extend Sheyenne River Byway from Baldhill Dam to Cooperstown. Total cost: $75,000

* Barnes, Wimbledon Midland Continental Depot; interpretative materials. Total cost: $175,000

The public is invited to view the current STIP on the NDDOT Web site at www.dot.nd.gov and click on “Final STIP (2010-2013).”

Comments should be sent no later than March 6 to Paul Benning at NDDOT, 608 E Boulevard Ave, Bismarck, ND 58505-0700, or sent via e-mail pbenning@nd.gov with “Scenic Byways projects” in the subject line.
