JHS JV team finishes 2nd at West Region
Eathan Gumke led the Jamestown High School junior varsity wrestling tournament with a second-place finish at the West Region JV Tournament. Gumke, an eighth-grader, finished with a season record of 13-3 at 140 pounds.

Joe Zimmerman, Donovan Zuck, Cory Arneson and Nate Purcell each placed third.
Zimmerman had 7 JV wins and a team-leading 19 reversals at 125 pounds.
Zuck closed at 16-5 in his junior season at 189.
Arneson went 15-5 at 215. The junior also had a team-best 15 pins.
Purcell finished with a team-best 17-2 record at heavyweight, including a team-leading 14 takedowns.
Fellow heavyweight Clay Greenwood went 14-5, leading the Jays in 2-point near falls (5), 3-point near falls (10) and takedowns (26).
Also for the JV team, Alex Baumgarten and Alek Dallmann had 9 wins, Cullen Goter collected 7 and Collin Crabtree had three wins and a team-beat 10 escapes.
The JHS JV team is coached by Larry Eslick.
