Truck goes through ice in Wisconsin

HUDSON, Wis. — A spokesperson at the Washington County, Minn., Sheriff’s Office said Monday morning that the name of the driver whose truck fell through ice on the St. Croix River Saturday morning at Hudson won’t be released until Tuesday.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office identified the driver as a 57-year-old Bayport, Minn., man.
The truck went through ice just north of the railroad swing bridge at about 3 a.m. Saturday.
Hudson Police Chief Marty Jensen said a woman who lives on St. Croix Street in Hudson was just getting home from work and heard the driver yelling for help. She called 911.
In a news release early Saturday morning, the sheriff’s office said deputies located the man in the water and pulled him to safety. The Bayport man was taken to a hospital, but his condition and whether he is still a patient at the hospital hasn’t been reported.
