The Internet connection to the 11 public colleges and universities in North Dakota was disrupted for nearly four hours Tuesday morning.

BISMARCK (AP) — The Internet connection to the 11 public colleges and universities in North Dakota was disrupted for nearly four hours Tuesday morning.

Randall Thursby, chief information officer for the North Dakota University System, said the problem occurred when workers were trying to upgrade the network and encountered a problem.

Thursby said that even though all of the campuses are connected on one network, this type of problem is rare.
