Fargo group to try again for home
An attorney is appealing a Fargo Planning Commission decision to reject a proposal for a group home in a downtown Fargo neighborhood that would serve sex offenders.
FARGO (AP) — An attorney is appealing a Fargo Planning Commission decision to reject a proposal for a group home in a downtown Fargo neighborhood that would serve sex offenders.
Project spokesman Craig Ritchie said he expects the matter to go before the City Commission in March.
The Christian Sports Commission unsuccessfully sought a permit for a group home that could house sex offenders finding it difficult to get housing. The home also would be open to others on probation or parole.
Some neighbors including Jaime Kreider object to the idea. Kreider said several of them will attend the City Commission meeting when the group home is on the agenda.
