GRAFTON, N.D. (AP) — A March 29 trial has been set for a Grafton man facing negligent homicide charges.
Thirty-seven-year-old John Klava is charged in the deaths of two people in a minivan-motorcycle crash in Walsh County last July 17. He has pleaded not guilty.
Authorities say Klava was driving the minivan on U.S. Highway 81 north of Minto when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a motorcycle driven by 52-year-old Bryant Watts of St. Thomas. Watts was killed along with his 46-year-old wife, Cynthia, a passenger on the bike.
Klava faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
