Jewels meeting for stew lunch

The Jewels of the Prairie will meet at 11:30 a.m. March 9 at the Jamestown Arts Center for a beef stew and roll lunch provided by T.J. Catering. There will be dessert. The program will be on the Irish potato famine and each Jewel is asked to bring a potato for the Community Action Food Pantry. Also bring some trivia about Ireland. Call Angela Madsen 252-0563 for reservations by Sunday.

Eunice Sahr, Stutsman County Extension agent, presented “Who Gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plate?” at the February Jewels of the Prairie event at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Twenty-one Jewels, Sahr and guest Sharon Snyder, a Red Hatter from Michigan, were in attendance. Some of the questions discussed regarding distribution of estates were “What does Fair Mean To You?” or “Do You Recognize Different Needs of Family Members?”

E-mails and cards from Jewel snowbirds were shared with the group.
