Delta adding Grand Forks flights

Delta Air Lines is expanding service between Grand Forks and Minneapolis from five round-trip flights daily to seven, beginning June 10.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Delta Air Lines is expanding service between Grand Forks and Minneapolis from five round-trip flights daily to seven, beginning June 10.

The announcement comes a few weeks after Delta announced increased westbound service for Minot, Bismarck and Fargo.

Grand Forks officials expressed dismay that their city was not included in that expansion and later met with Delta officials at airline headquarters in Atlanta. Gov. John Hoeven and Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., took part in that meeting via conference call.

Grand Forks airport officials say Delta's additional flights will cut connection times in Minneapolis for people traveling to the East and West Coasts. They say discussions for westward flights will continue with other airlines.
