DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — A former Dickinson city worker accused of stealing almost $7,000 is not being required to post bond, and officials say she is working to pay back what she allegedly took.
Chandra Christensen of Killdeer was charged with felony theft after officials discovered that $2,544 in cash and $4,241 in checks was missing.
Christensen had worked in Dickinson's utility billing department until she was fired Jan. 26. Calls to her home on Thursday did not go through.
Dickinson Administrator Shawn Kessel says the city has recovered about $2,000 in checks from Christensen and that he has been told more money might be coming.
