MINOT (AP) — An apartment fire on the top floor of 10-story high-rise in Minot left several residents suffering from smoke inhalation.

Fire Department Battalion Chief Keith Miller said the blaze broke out about 5 p.m. Monday. The cause wasn’t immediately known.

The Henry Towers building provides housing for the elderly and people with disabilities. Miller said the building’s sprinkler system kept the fire from spreading, and the building did not have to be evacuated.

However, Miller said several residents were given oxygen outside the building, and some were taken to a local hospital. The hospital did not have an exact number.
