Elizabeth Schweitzer

Elizabeth Schweitzer, 97, Fargo, N.D., formerly Napoleon, N.D., died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Bethany Homes, Fargo.

Elizabeth Kuntz was born Jan. 12, 1913, near Napoleon, the daughter of Peter and Agnatha (Schmaltz) Kuntz. She grew up on the family farm and attended rural school. She married Carl Schweitzer on Nov. 4, 1936, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and worked as a cook at the Napoleon school until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Altar Society. She entered Bethany Homes, Fargo, in December 1998. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.

She is survived by a daughter, Betty Schwartz, West Fargo, N.D.; two sons, Andy (Gerri), Hankinson, N.D., and Carl, Mesa, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Thomas; her parents; five brothers; two sisters; a son-in-law, Raymond Schwartz; a daughter-in-law, Rose Schweitzer; and a granddaughter, Brendra Schweitzer.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon.

Prayer service: 7 p.m. Friday, Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon.

Visitation: 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial: St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery, Na-poleon.
