Black Hills State women eliminated

Cold shooting did in the Black Hills State women on Friday night as the Yellow Jackets hit on just 35 percent of its shots in a 58-50 loss to Indiana Wesleyan in the second round of the NAIA national tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.

Black Hills State (26-7) connected on just 20 of its 57 field goal attempts, and nobody had more than 12 points in the loss.

Jenna Bolstad led the Yellow Jackets with 12 points. Black Hills State led 23-21 at halftime, but was outscored 37-27 over the final 20 minutes.

Elaine Hessel led Indiana Wesleyan (28-6) with 22 points. They face top-seeded Ozarks (Mo.) in the quarterfinals today.

The Black Hills State men and Minot State women were eliminated in the opening round on Wednesday.

The Jimmie women lost in the second round Friday and the JC men fell to No. 6 Oklahoma Wesleyan Thursday night.
