Major flooding forecast for Linton

Major flooding once again is forecast in the south central North Dakota town of Linton.

LINTON, N.D. (AP) — Major flooding once again is forecast in the south central North Dakota town of Linton.

The National Weather Service on Monday said Beaver Creek had surpassed minor flood stage of 9 feet. The creek was forecast to rise to 14.8 feet late Saturday.

The creek reached an all-time high crest of 18.83 feet on March 24, 2009. Floodwaters washed out bridges and roads and swamped more than 70 homes.
