Major flooding forecasted for Linton

Major flooding once again is forecast in the south central North Dakota town of Linton. The National Weather Service on Monday said Beaver Creek had surpassed minor flood stage of 9 feet. The creek was forecast to rise to 14.8 feet late Saturday.

LINTON, N.D. (AP) — Major flooding once again is forecast in the south central North Dakota town of Linton.

The National Weather Service on Monday said Beaver Creek had surpassed minor flood stage of 9 feet. The creek was forecast to rise to 14.8 feet late Saturday.

The creek reached an all-time high crest of 18.83 feet on March 24, 2009. Floodwaters washed out bridges and roads and swamped more than 70 homes.
